Lottery Singapore

Lottery Singapore is a state-owned lottery operator that is government-regulated to ensure that players are protected from fraudulent operators. It operates two lottery games – 4-D and Toto, as well as sports betting.

Toto, founded in 1968 and stylised as TOTO, is the second most popular type of gambling activity after 4D. The game can be purchased at any of the Singapore Pools outlets across the country. The draw is conducted every Monday and Thursday at 6:30 pm (SG time).

Singapore Pools also offers a number of different ways to play the game, including ordinary entries and system entries. The latter method is more expensive than an ordinary entry, but it gives you a higher chance of winning.

In addition, there are several prize tiers to choose from. These range from a small amount to the top three. The winner can then claim their prize at any of the Singapore Pools authorized venues.

For a limited period, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has allowed state-linked Singapore Pools to offer online and telephone gambling for the 4D and TOTO lotteries, football and motor racing. However, it will not allow them to offer casino-style games or poker.

Despite these restrictions, MHA said that the sums bet on lotteries and sports betting in Singapore in the last financial year increased significantly. The Tote Board, which regulates Singapore’s gambling activities, said that it expects the increase to continue.

According to IRAS, it collected SGD9.2 billion in gambling duties in the last financial year. This figure includes both direct and indirect gambling duty collections. The duties were collected via a variety of methods, which include a statement submission and payment made by the authorised betting operator or lottery promoter.
